Sprawling from the water up the hill on Haad Yao's northern end, Bay View Resort's best feature is the large, fancy swimming pool with its waterfall and good-sized sun deck. The basic fan rooms are clean and solid but provide little more comfort than average rooms elsewhere, and the beds are a bit too firm. The larger air-con rooms cost a good deal more but are very spacious with high ceilings, satellite TV and minibars. Large private decks also provide excellent views. All in all, though the rooms here are not as luxurious as the pool and the prices would suggest.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.

Avoid. - 30th September, 2007
Really overpriced, especially if you go for the fan rooms, which don't even have mosquito screens, or decent bathrooms. The place is full of faked yes sir/no sir friendliness and is really just the type of the Kho Phangan doesn't need. It's ironic that the most expensive place is on the dirtiest part of the beach where you wouldn't really want to swim. You'll get better, cheaper at the other end of the beach.
