A friendly spot high on the hillside away from Haad Yao beach, Queen Bungalow does not boast the finest bungalows, nor the best location, but the Queen is very hospitable and her huts cheap. The cool breeze and sea views can be quite lovely up here, but the view from the little restaurant has been obscured by the large red eyesore of a restaurant across the street. While the roof hovering above the bungalow walls may be an interesting design choice, and does keep things cooler, it also gives local reptiles a nice shaded place to hang out and poop. Other than this minor detail, the rooms are clean enough and comfortable for the price.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.
