What we say:

Perched on the hill overlooking the whole bay of Haad Salad, Hope Bungalows consists of a row of simple backpacker bungalows all facing the ocean with great sea views across the treetops. It's a simple family operation, with a restaurant offering basic home-cooked Thai food. Everything is very clean and clearly a lot of effort is put into keeping the neat terraced gardens and simple rooms tidy. There are a couple of more substantial cement bungalows with glass windows and mosquito screens, but the majority are woven-sided bungalows with wooden shutters and mosquito nets. Insect life would no doubt have no trouble getting in, but the mozzies probably aren't at all bad because of the height and the sea breeze.
