Description
While being far from luxurious and situated on the poorer part of the beach, Royal Orchid is still the finest setup on Mae Haad. WIth bungalows of several difrerent sizes and comfort levels, there is something here for everyone. Despite there being no beachfront to speak of, many rooms do have good views of the sea and Ko Ma from just beyond the water's rocky edge. The cheapest rooms are very basic, not much more than a comfortable bed and enough room to get around it, but good solid doors and screens on the windows help keep out unwanted visitors. These rooms are clean and bright but could do with a paint job inside. Spendier rooms don't provide much more than extra space, air-con if you want it, and maybe a better view. The folks here are great and make everyone feel welcome. They also offer a full range of travel assistance, a mini mart, motorbike (100-150B/day) and kayak (100B/hour, 200B/3 hours) rentals and internet acess. Full Moon partygoers can also hitch a ride to Haad Rin for 150B, getting back is the fun part.
