Ko Pha Ngan is so big, we’ve split it up into areas, select one of the below for detailed accommodation and food listings in that area. Sights and general overviews for Ko Pha Ngan as a whole can be found via the icons above. Don’t know where to start? Read an overview of Ko Pha Ngan’s different areas.
A lagoon/sandy ditch sits between the beach and Mae Haad View and only a handful of their small huts — the cheapest in Mae Haad — provide a sea view through the trees and shrubs lining the lagoon.
All rooms are the same price regardless of position, and they're all the same size and quality — small and rudimentary. But they do have an authentic Ko Pha Ngan backpacker vibe, which is becoming a rarity on the island. The very basic, wooden affairs smell of mildew, the linens are aging, and there are large gaps between many floorboards. The attached Rolling Stoned beach bar is adorable, and totally old skool Pha Ngan with Bob Marley and driftwood galore. If you're on a shoestring but looking for a good time this is the best choice on Mae Haad. A good range of vegetarian options in the restaurant and a campfire and barbeque are also nice additions to a very basic but character-full backpacker operation.
