Certainly one of the best deals on the beach, Mae Haad Cove has well-kept, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price even if the common areas are scruffy. A handful of spacious dark-stained wooden bungalows sit near the edge of the beach while slightly larger, yet cheaper, units sit a short distance up the hill behind them. These bungalows are sturdy and very clean with mosquito screens in the windows and large beds though they could do with a bit of maintenance. Each room, regardless of location has a decent view of the sea and a large shaded deck with bench seats and a hammock from which to enjoy the view or relax with a good book. Swimmers and profuse sweaters will appreciate the shower heads posted outside each bungalow for a post-ocean rinse. The restaurant is small and cluttered but features one private beach sala and makes good authentic Thai food. This is a friendly, cozy and totally peaceful spot that is also easy on the budget.
