At the far southern end of Haad Salad, Double Duke sits right along the sand, enjoying its peaceful and secluded location. The wooden island-style huts here are quite basic but clean and well cared for. A couple sit on the beach while most run in a row away from the beach, and fan or air-con are available. The basic rooms are inexpensive and a little buggy, but the more sturdy air-con rooms are a good deal and very pleasant, with big balconies, wardrobes and porch furniture. The beachfront restaurant is very comfortable and provides a tranquil hangout with good food and beverages, a reggae vibe and a tolerant policy. All the staff were very friendly. Kayaks, snorkels and air mattresses are available for good times in the water.
