The Haad Salad original
What we say: 
One of the two original joints on Haad Salad, My Way remains a popular backpacker spot, centrally located on the beach. The bungalows sit in two rows along either side of a large grass field behind the small beachside restaurant, though one actually sits just above the sand. They are positioned facing across the field so the only view one gets is of more bungalows. The rooms are a mix of cheap flimsy-sided huts and ugly red-brick ones which are more substantial though pretty small. The rooms are inexpensive and mostly well-built and clean. The restaurant here is very laid-back and one of the cheapest on the beach and the beach bar, right in the sand, is a cool place to while away a few hours and meet other backpackers. The friendly proprietor is a wealth of knowledge about the area and its activities.

laid back, nice beach
Truly laid back. Every bungalow has hammock on the varendah. Room though small, but clean. The wooden floors are spaced out to let cool air coming in. Very clever design, also sand is easily swept away thrugh the gaps. The restaurant, protruding outwards to the sea, built on stilts are simply adorable. It has a lot of VIBES. Real cosy, you may sit for hours here just to absorb the atmosphere. But large mosquitoes as the sun sets in, but they go away later in the night. Also, mosquitoe net is built-in in the bungalow, no problem, real cook rock back to basic eastern culutre. Amusing. We paid 300bh for Fan. For beach bums this place is highly recommended. Look for the captain, Mike.. a burmese, humerous to speak,. no problem man.

Bungalows are clean and well furnished, but don't be deceived by the different types - the sea is barely visible from the sea view bungalows and even the beach front ones aren't facing the sea. Service in the bar/restaurant is very poor - expect to have to get your own menu and track down someone to take your order. The food is good though and they also play good music. A great location on beautiful Haad Salad beach.
