Long Bay Resort
Flashest place on the beach

What we say:
This place may have once been the most lavish spot on Haad Yao, and it remains a high quality resort. However, the rates here are inflated, and it's difficult to see the value. Granted, all rooms have satellite TV and minibars, but it remains overpriced. Rates aside, the bungalows here are spacious, well-kept and comfortable, with little in the way of decor. The pool is quite large and is accompanied by a kid's pool. The beachfront restaurant is classy but laid-back and does some great seafood barbecues right on the beach. The service is very friendly as well, though again not up to the standard you'd expect at these rates.

Overpriced, bad service
1500B for a big air-con room but the bathroom was poor and the bed too soft. Breakfast was average. Nice beach and pool but really nothing to do. Staff booked us a transfer and we ended up on a local bus which took us two hours more.
