O.T's High Life Resort
Spectacular views

What we say:
Located along Haad Yao's southern cliff, O.T.'s High Life is one of the finer setups in the area. Its charming little Thai-style huts are simple yet well-kept and are relatively easy on the budget while offering the same great views as the more expensive and newer deluxe air-con bungalows nearby. These larger units are cozy and comfortable but a little plain and simple for the prices. There's also a lovely swimming pool atop the cliff and a cliff top terrace which houses a relaxed restaurant offering the best views over Haad Yao. A movie nook with big screen TV provides free entertainment, and books and snorkels are lent as well. A very friendly and inviting place.

A chilled spot
When we got there, the cheaper bungalows were all full so we settled for a 2,000B room with air-con, bath tub with jacuzzi jets and a balcony with a splendid view of the beach. The staff were helpful, the food was very nice and the pool was great. There is a nice walkway down to the beach and the whole place just has a laid-back, chilled out vibe. Recommended place to stay

Just OK
700B for a small fan room. Can only walk to beach the short way at low tide.

Very nice!
Very good place with nice view over the beach. They built a new pool with great view to the beach and the sea. Staff was very friendly and the service was perfect. The only thing that wasn't so nice were the small (but good) dishes. we moved from Sandy Bay (look there for more information from me) and it was 100% better. In our opinion High Life is the best place to stay at the moment (we have seen all of the 'resorts' on the beach -- most of them you can forget).

Great place
Really friendly and polite staff, and the bungalows are good value. We stayed in a 600B fan bungalow and it was much better than other bungalows along the beach charging over 1000B. If you can live without air-con I'd recommend the fan rooms as they have better sea views and are further from the road. Set in nice gardens and the beach is great. Still not too over-developed and very laid back.
