Description
Popular among backpackers and shoestring travellers, Great Bay provides basic huts and a laid-back and fun atmosphere. Pong, the gentleman running this place is everybody's friend and takes good care of his guests. Most bungalows here are small and very simple and the quality is not spectacular, but many sit on or near the beach, and more comfortable bungalows with air-con are available. The laid-back restaurant has a good, inexpensive menu and a couple of pool tables. Depending on the crowd and the time of day, it ranges from a tranquil hangout to an all-out party. If high-quality lodging is not a top priority, then Great Bay is a great place to unwind and have some fun on the beach -- though this stretch is a little rocky. But if small, sometimes dank wooden huts don't sound like the makings of an ideal getaway, then look elsewhere.
