What we say:

Mountain Reef Resort is a budget operation on the southern end of Tanote Bay. The cheaper huts are very small and located up the hill from the bay amid a lot of tree cover. These are weathered but certainly passable, and the shade keeps them relatively cool. The bungalows on the water's rocky edge cost only a little more but are a good deal larger and in better shape. The restaurant near the water offers Thai food. Games can be borrowed and books exchanged at the reception. This is an affordable and peaceful spot to unwind on one of Ko Tao's most isolated beaches.
