Hin Wong Bungalows
Super friendly and peaceful

What we say:
Hin Wong Bungalows offer some of the cheapest accommodation and friendliest service on Ko Tao in a totally peaceful and rustic location. This spot right on the bay is difficult to leave, and they make it even harder with super cheap long-term rates. While the small basic huts aren't much to look at, they are in fair condition and provide a great base for those who want to get out and play in the water or simply enjoy the quiet of Ko Tao's lesser-developed east coast. Kayaks (200B/hour, 250B/half day, 350B/day) and snorkel gear (80B/hour or half day, 10B/day) are available at the reception area. For those who don't want to be totally shut off from civilisation, daily boats and songthaews to Mae Haad and Sairee run at 08:30 and 13:30 for 80B/person.

Not for beachlovers
We had booked a bungalow at Hin Wong in advance, and hadn´t looked it up properly first. After the taxiride (which almost gave me a heartattack) we soon realised there was no beach at all on the bay! Only big rocks. I guess it´s good snorkelling, and the food at the restaurant was really tasty, but we left after one night just because of the lack of a proper beach. Our bungalow was very good and clean so it was too bad we ''couldn´t'' stay.

fabulous paradise
Great spot to linger in a bungalow.simple but very efficient lodgings.we had one with two beds ,two fans and the best ever vieuws one could wish for.the family who run the place are very nice people.their restaurant is simple but adequate. You come here for snorkeling the bay..wich can't be beat.a lovely place!

just okay
Firstly, this island is entirely overdived. On more than one dive I spent more time avoiding other divers than looking at fish. The bungalows, I am sorry to say, were not spotless, the bathroom smelled, though they did have a great mosquito net. The seclusion is great and the snorkeling is also wonderful but the woman who ran the restaurant humiliated a pair of travelers in front of everyone for what seemed to be a minor and unintended offense. While the food at the restaurant is delicious, the service is so slow you imagine you are being ignored until the chef herself appears to reprimand you for ''not eating bananas'' koh tao was so built up we could have skipped it entirely. call it koh samui jr.

Amazing
Sahaat and his family are amongst the most hospitable you'll ever meet on Ko Tao. At the right time of the year, the snorkelling here is simply awesome. As said above well worth the hike.

Worth the hike!
After four months on the move through India and Nepal, we needed a secluded getaway spot to relax and decompress. Following a trail of word-of-mouth references about where to find unspoiled paradise, we stumbled from Bangkok to Ko Pha Ngan to Ko Tao. Hin Wong was the most remote spot on the island, ensuring that only the hippest, world savy backpackers could find it. If you're looking for resorts full of bikini clad spring break kids -- go to Ko Samui! If you want to see where God allowed heaven to touch down on earth, check out Hin Wong Bungalows on Ko Tao. Please tread lightly while you're there. Fav. memory: Grandfather Sahat and his albino water buffalo. Attn divers: The top 10 dive sites in the Carribean don't even make the list once you've seen this place!
