Coconut Beach
Classic Samui backpacker spot

What we say:
This is a classic, old-style Samui backpacker choice. If you don't want frills but do want beachfront Coconut Beach is worth considering. The basic wooden huts have linoleum-covered floors, bucket toilets and squeaking beds and come with cold water bathrooms. The beachfront huts are the best placed, but they are pretty small -- good for small people or solo travellers. The beach here is excellent, though there is limited shade under the palms that line the front of the resort. It's a tad overpriced, but a friendly spot. Staff are cheery, though if you stay here you'll probably eat elsewhere.

Great budget option
We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it. Rooms are basic but staff are willing to make discount, some can be a little abrupt. Location great and on a great part of the beach. Food and drinks are expensive and should be avoided.
