Coco Palm Resort
Terrific family option

What we say:
This place has stacks of well-sized, rattan-finished bungalows. They all have large balconies and the mid-sized pool surrounded by lush gardens is a bonus. Spread across a huge, well-landscaped estate, with fine swimming offshore, this is a terrific family option. They havea bunch of different price categories depending on location -- the cheapest are right at the back of the resort.

disappointing
Well where do i start. Ok the good points. The rooms are spacious if a little tired and not service too well. The staff are almost none existent and with no skill. The waiter told us he was the gardener as well which explains a lot. Even though he was probably the one that was the most friendly and helpful. There is no one to give towels at pool side and the beach, so you have to walk to the reception to collect your own. If you loose a towel or leave it they threaten to charge 500thb per towel. The German manager is quite rude and arrogant. He doesn’t like children and really doesn’t run the resort at all well. The beach directly opposite the resort is nice and quiet but further down its a massive dog toilet. The pool needs to be retiled because when we were there about 20 came off. The restaurant is ok but the food is tasteless and unimaginative. Breakfast is ok but when it runs out its gone even though breakfast closing is 10.00am. They don’t allow you to park your car in the hotel car park only at reception which makes it hard if you have children. The room rate is high when compared to other resorts in the near vicinity. Basically 4 start prices with 2 star service.

Beautiful and peaceful
Set in luscious tropical gardens, on a quiet stretch of beach and a beautiful swimming pool framed by palm trees, this is an idyllic resort. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and modern. Even in the cheapest bungalows, you have TV, air-con, hot water, etc. Only thing missing is a fridge, which is only available in deluxe rooms. The restaurant makes good food too. Our only complaints are that the fruit served at the breakfast buffet is not protected from the many flies, and table service is not always the friendliest.
