Description
The chief virtue of the Hung Vuong is that most of the rooms are located far enough from the street to make traffic noise less of a problem than elsewhere in Pleiku. The rooms are cramped and not exactly spiffy, but clean enough and good enough for the price. The rooms are ranked in classes -- you pay more for more furnishings, and the first class rooms have balconies and bathtubs. There's a massage place on site. On our visit, we had one of the masseuses walk into our room in the middle of the night -- by accident. Air-con, cable TV, and hot water private baths standard in all rooms.

Thanh Lich
86 Nguyen Van Troi St, Pleiku
The Thanh Lich is in a convenient location for some decent restaurants, and it's two-doors down from an internet place. The rooms are a bit cramped, but well-equipped -- cable TV and private hot water bathrooms are standard in all rooms. Even though it's under the same ownership as the Hung Vuong,... more
Mini Hotel
18 Quang Trung St, Pleiku
This is a fun, friendly place -- the owner used to live in Kentucky in the US, and though she seems to have picked up little English, she gives western tourists a big, warm welcome (six of her daughters live in the US.) The rooms are certainly basic, but worth the price, and you gotta dig the big,... more
Thuan Hai
94-96-98 Tran Phu St, Pleiku
This is a friendly place right near Pleiku's market -- though not much English is spoken, the family that runs the place are very helpful. The price list is a real hoot -- every room is priced separately based on size, location, and extras. The cheaper rooms have no exterior windows, but they... more
Vinh Hoi Hotel
39 Tran Phu St, Pleiku
This place is a bit more polished than the Thuan Hai down the street, and the rooms are a bit more pleasant. However, there are changes on the horizon -- all the rooms are going to be remodelled and the prices will rise. There are some good budget rooms with shared bath at the back of the building... more
Duc Long Hotel
95-97 Hai Ba Trung, Pleiku
Given that it's hard to find a good room at a reasonable price in Pleiku the Duc Long rates as a possible option. It's located near the market, can easily be located by looking for the huge, yellow, plastic palm tree out front, and it has the distinction of the being the only place in town with a... more
