Description
Among the sea of mini-hotels lining Bui Thi Xuan, this is one of the better choices for backpackers. Although not exactly modern and definitely not freshly painted, all rooms have cable TV and some higher up have a fantastic balcony which wraps around the front and side of the building. Bathrooms havetubs. Thanh Dong would be a great place for a large group of friends, with a few rooms able to cater to six people sharing three double beds for just US$15. In fact, on any kind of sharing basis the rooms are fantastic backpacker value. Be wary of the aggressive dog lashed to a post in the garden when entering. The rooms range in price depending on how many people are staying in them.

Phuong Hanh
80/82, Ba Thang Hai (3/2) St, Da Lat
Phuong Hanh's new hotel represents one of the newest and best value hotels in Da Lat. For very reasonable prices, rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. The cream and peach colour paint job and the large French windows make for a light and airy atmosphere. Some rooms have balconies, all have phone,... more
Phuong Thanh
65 Truong Cong Dinh St, Da Lat
Centrally located among the tour agencies and hotels of Da Lat, Phuong Thanh is a quiet little place where travellers can relax. Compared to the purpose-built hotels surrounding it, this place has a certain charm -- it's an old converted French townhouse. With only 10 rooms, an intimate atmosphere... more
A Chau
13 Tang Bat Ho, Da Lat
It took about five minutes to establish that this place was actually a hotel from the non-English-speaking owners. Inside the decorations are unattractive, with concrete steps leading the way up trip-lighted passages. Out of two rooms visited, one was bad, one was good. On the good side, we saw a... more
Chau A
4D Bui Thi Xuan St, Da Lat
Chau A has some new rooms and some old rooms in adjoining buildings, meaning it's something of a lottery. In the newest building, one double room has a fantastic view over fields and local housing -- just swing open the curtains in the morning and enjoy from the bed. The bathroom in this room was... more
Peace Hotel
64 Truong Cong Dinh St, Da Lat
This hotel has been around since before Vietnam opened its doors to foreign visitors and it seems that it hasn't seen a lick of paint since. All rooms are Da Lat's ubiquitous family- style: two double beds, with prices fluctuating based on the number of people you plan to cram in. The rooms have... more
PX Hotel
62 Phan Ding Phung St, Da Lat
The PX Hotel was newly opened in January 2007, with the attached cafe not yet open but planned to be soon. The hotel seems to have been put together quickly, as there are some unfinished decorations and crude furnishings in the rooms. One nice touch however is the carpet lining the floors. Most... more
Pacific
9 Bui Thi Xuan St, Da Lat
The Pacific Hotel is reminiscent of a youth hostel, and not a very good one. Despite the staff being friendly enough and speaking English, which is unusual for the collection of hotels on this part of Bui Thi Xuan, the place falls just short of respectable. Some walls are very dirty and there... more
Hoang Ha
4H Bui Thi Xuan St, Da Lat
Considering the number of places to stay in Da Lat, it's hard pressed to come up with a reason to stay here. If purple is your favourite colour, then go for it. The Hotel is painted purple and has a bright sofa in the lobby, also purple. The lobby doubles as a walk-in art gallery selling a variety... more
Thanh Long
23 Truong Cong Dinh St, Da Lat
Upon entry here, staff seemed uninterested and the place was totally deserted, but this place had some quirky features that make it a little different from the rest. Penguin litter bins line the hallways, wooden carvings of Mickey and Minnie Mouse adorn the wall above the double bed, and... more
