Vinapha Hotel

A bit dreary

The row of clocks listing international hotels suggest that Vinapha aspires to have a bit of class -- it's just a shame that none of the faces have the correct time. Vinapha has a great central location, but the atmosphere is rather dreary. Rooms are a little damp, but generally fine, with soft beds and functional bathrooms. The darkened hallway labelled 'Massage' is a little off-putting, but seems legit. It's among the cheapest of the offerings on Tran Phu, so you might stop in and see if you can put up with the drawbacks for a budget view of the water. You can get the same quality room, with a better atmosphere, for less money, elsewhere in town: try the Prince 2, Hoa Hong or the Duy Hoang.

Very Decent and an Option - 17th April, 2008
The rooms are plain and ordinary but big. In the back, the rooms are very quiet and open out to a communal balconey. Also, the breeze blows at your window which is nice. Yes there is a massage parlor between the first and second floors, but there are many a massage parlors in many a hotels in Asia. They are harmless and you might not even see the girls; they stay down the hall in room 108. Even if you do see them, they are quite pleasant and polite. Negotiate on the price. Decent value for Da Nang's oddly, high hotel prices. Front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant in dealing with me. Hot water in shower, good for VN cable tv and frigge. In Da Nang you need hot water for the shower. It can be cool even in the hot season. (Note: Minh Travel Hotel doesnt have hot water.)
