What we say:

This older, government-run, three-star outfit is one of the few places fitting that description that still maintains its standing as a good midrange deal. This huge hotel is right on the Han river, with rooms in two buildings. The nicer, newer rooms are in a retro 60s block, and feature homey and elegant rooms -- though they are a tad on the small side. The cheaper rooms are located out back, in a faded but beautiful colonial manse. They're large and relatively comfortable, but vaguely scruffy, and don't offer river views. The rates for the cheap rooms are pretty overpriced -- though it does put you on the river, and gets you access to a decent pool. Luxury travellers may want to snap up one of their two presidential suites: this is where the president of Vietnam stays when he's in Da Nang.
