The Da Nang offers two hotels in one -- a two-star place closer to the water (though not close enough for any views) and a three-star place next door. Set in a sun-bleached concrete building, rooms in the two-star wing are arranged around a central courtyard with flowering trees -- pretty, despite the disused fountain at the centre. They come with tubs in the bath, desks, small TVs and fridges. They're functional, but look pretty worn, and aren't really great value for money. The three-star wing has rooms of a slightly higher calibre, with red tile floors, glass-top furnishings, and a dark wood theme. They're a bit more spacious and classy, but you won't take a big hit settling on the two-star option. No points here for the lobby, which looks like it belongs on the ground floor of a condominium.
