The site of a westerner on this beach really turns heads, unless they are part of a Vietnamese family. Tien Sa Resort offers family accommodation in A-frame, beachside bungalows built into the rocky outcrop at the eastern end of the beach, and also have some hotel-style rooms in a building 100 metres inland. The rooms here are acceptable, but hardly high-quality, though they all come with air-con, however no fan options are available. Most of the guests don't plan to spend any time in their rooms anyway -- they lay out a blanket in a shady spot and spend the day eating and drinking, or take a table at the seafood restaurant and chow down on a hot pot. Vietnamese holiday makers make the most of their precious days off, and the crowd here when we visited on Independence Day seemed to be having the time of their lives. If you want to get off the tourist trail in Da Nang, this is our number one pick.
