What we say: 
This smart, three-storey hotel is built around an attractive pool in an atrium-like setup. The sleek reception desk and elegant pendant lamps in the modern lobby hint at the quality of the rooms waiting upstairs. Rooms are attractive and well-appointed, managing to look rather modern, while retaining some character through dark wood furniture and local paintings on the walls. A few upstairs rooms have small balconies overlooking the pool, most overlook the street. The pool is a big draw here — only medium sized, but with space to relax. The restaurant serves Vietnamese and Western fare. Discounts available on longer stays.

Vinh Hung Resort and Hotel
I checked out both the resort and the hotel. The resort doesn't feel like it's worth the extra money. Rooms are comperable to the 30.00 rooms in town. However the amenities like grounds, restaurant etc could be worth it if that's what you're into. Vinh Hung is the best mid range hotel I found in Hoi An. I looked at almost all of the mid range places listed in Lonely Planet and stayed at the Life Hotel just down the street for one night and got out of there, went to Vinh Hung instead. Staff is friendly, accommodating and helps with extra favors. One guy took me to the resort on his motorbike to check out the room. Only downside is the 3rd floor can be noisy off and on due to water pumps. At night it's especially noticeable. If you're a heavy sleeper, it's not a problem.

The sister down the street is very nice, and cheaper: good doubles from $18 for no window, and the much better deal of $20 with a window. This is the only place we could find a room that was not molding. Also, there is a nice rooftop pool, very friendly and helpful staff, and an impressive free breakfast that goes far beyond toast and coffee.
