Description
This mini-hotel is a cheap option located a 10-minute walk from the centre of Hoi An and attracts a steady trickle of budget travellers. The rooms are a little on the stuffy side, though they are quite clean. We'd suggest going for a room at the rear of the building, where there is more peace and quiet and you'll get a view over the fields.

After having been looking for a hotel to stay in Hoian, I finally found this hotel which is almost in the middle of Hoian. The staffs are nice and friendly. The hotel is clean and shiny. I have paid $8 and stayed there in almost 2 weeks. Warmly recommended from me

Is very dirty hotel, we find rats and spider bvig as pancake.
We ask for changing room and at the end we had to leave the hotel and pay half price just to have back our passport.
Don't go there!

Was not happy with the options supplied by the Open Tour to Hoi An, so I checked out both Dai Long and here. Dai Long offered me the windowless room directly behind reception for US$6. Whereas for the same price (negotiated down from $8) at Phuong Dong I got the nicest room I had in three weeks in Vietnam. I had a ground floor fan only room towards the back of the hotel (backing onto a field). Room had TV with cable, wooden furniture, comfy double bed, full-length mirror, bathroom with tub (bathroom was a bit grimy though), and a fridge. Hotel spoke adequate English, laundry was 15,000VND a kg, and there was even someone to let me out at 5am for a trip my My Son! Hotel is about a five minute walk from the riverfront/main drag, restaurants near the hotel also seem a bit cheaper than in "central" Hoi An. Surrounds are quiet at night, except for the nice background noise of cicadas chirping? Only quibble was I got two very old/stained towels and towels weren't changed or bins emptied in my five day stay.
Have your say

Hop Yen Hotel
16A Nhi Trung St, Hoi An
The Hop Yen's business card boasts that they're located in the old town centre but we're not sure which old town they're referring to, as they're a good 10-minute walk from Hoi An's centre. The hotel has loads of rooms, including some with rather odd inward-facing balconies for smokers. They are... more
Minh Quang Hotel
551 Hai Ba Trung St, Hoi An
The Minh Quang has basic and bland rooms, with their main draw-card simply being price, and the rates listed in the lobby can usually be bargained down by a few dollars. The rooms are functional but little more. Some of the staff speak English fluently, others not a word. It's a fair option for a... more
