Not bad, but not great
What we say: 
As with the other Thanh Binh Hotels, this is a very Chinese-style spot with heavy wooden furniture, super-low beds and an in-house tailor. It's not bad value, particularly as you get to use the pool at the nearby Thanh Binh 3. Furniture comes across as a bit mix and match and standard rooms can be a little cramped, but others are bright and spacious. Deluxe rooms have balconies with table and chairs — a pleasant addition even if they do only face onto the road. They're likely to quickly come down on the rate a bit at least so don't accept first offer. Breakfast is included.

Comfortable
I paid $15 for a reasonable sized room with an outdoor area and all the facilities, including a good breakfast and use of a pool. There was wifi in the lobby, but my room was close enough that it worked there. I've always stayed right in the centre before but found they were charging high prices for pretty poor rooms so i moved here, and liked it enough that I would stay again. In fact it's still quite close to the centre anyway. I found the staff quite friendly and helpful.

Bargain!
Sorry if this is a bit out of date! In December 2003 I stayed here for US$6 per night for the two of us (no need for air-con, so not sure if it would have cost more). We had two double beds, TV, bath, fridge and the wonderfully over the top Chinese decoration. We had not intended to stay, but they just kept dropping their price, so we decided to take a look. Other people where paying US$15 for very similar rooms. I'd recommend this place again. Also, before you worry that we ripped them off, be assured that we drank enough of the minibar beer to make up for the very cheap accommodation.
