Anhuy Hotel

An excellent midrange option

Located in a quiet part of town to the east of the market, this quaint little hotel offers decent midrange accommodation. The Anhuy has a large restaurant and spotless, tasteful rooms on offer. Spacious rooms do a good job of incorporating modern conveniences into a stylishly traditional look. The upstairs deluxe rooms are lovely, though unfortunately the veranda view is over other tiled roofs. At least it's very private. Quite a unique choice among the standard Hoi An fare, as it actually has a lot of character. Try for a discount in low season and you'll probably get it. The only member of staff was sleeping when we arrived, and didn't seem to like being woken -- but the hotel was charming enough to excuse his attitude. Facilities include WiFi. Recommended.

Good location but a bit of a petri dish! - 21st March, 2010
Great location, very quiet, and opposite the sublimely beautiful Brothers Cafe. Staff were a bit odd, super friendly with other guests, but so not with us!! We had a downstairs room and it stank of damp, and the bathroom was covered in mould. Cool old buidling though, heaps of character, and good value for Hoi An. Loved loved loved Hoi An, it's so beautiful! Make sure to eat at Cafe 96! And Mermaids. And Cargo Club...!!

Convenience & Location - 3rd January, 2010
Great value for the $. Friendly & helpful staff. Room 104 stinks of humidity, much worse than all the others. They know this and rent this room last; if you get it, get out! Ask for a room on the second floor, and preferably on the left side of the hotel (right side neighbor has a rooster going at it at 4 am). Location is awesome and can't be beat. They offer all services needed, from laundry to touring to bike rental. Rooms are adequate, the hotel is nice, breakfast is possible out on the front ''porch'', which is fine because the street outside is actually quiet (no traffic at all!). Definitely recommended.

Comfortable Hotel, Lovely Staff - 18th April, 2009
My husband and I stayed at An Huy Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is very well located only a few blocks from the old town. Impressed by the ambience of this small hotel we were very well looked after by the staff, in particular, a capable and friendly young man named Vee (sorry about the spelling if you're reading this!). He helped us with many arrangements and even helped me get my laundry back in super speed and at no extra cost when I failed to read the return time in the hotel manual properly. When I fell sick, the staff helped my husband look after me, arranging a doctor, bringing hot water and making sure we wanted for nothing. Very nice, genuine people.

Nice staff and good location - 6th January, 2009
Stayed here for 2 nights while having heavy rain in Hoi An. The staff here are friendly and we have quite a lot casual chat. We stayed in the USD28 room (i.e. cheapest) and everything is up to our expectation, though the picture in the website look more spacious than actual (always the case!!!) It's close to the Old Town and it's situated on a quiet street. Just one thing that we were not very satisfied. Upon checking out, the staff arranged a mini van for us to the airport. They said before it's a brand new and spacious one, but unfortunately it's not quite true when the old van arrives. After all, the ride is smooth and we arrive the airport on time and safely.

A bit disappointing! - 21st February, 2008
Did not live up to the brochure for us! Checked in to find our Deluxe room we had booked 2 months prior had been given away because we had not re-confirmed 3 days before checking in (despite us re-confirming several times before we left Australia 2 weeks prior). Given a basic room and told we could move the next day. Each day we asked to move were told the Deluxe room was not available. Our room was downstairs and had a serious dampness problem which we told the staff about several times (bedding often felt damp and roof in bathroom leaked on us). Nicely decorated but unfortunately that didn't make up for the disappointment over our room down-grade and the dampness we had to live in for 4 days. Don't recommend this place...

Good Location and great staff - 4th January, 2008
We stayed here over the new years holiday and we had a nice room that was well decorated and clean. The staff was helpful with reconfirming flights for us and helping where they could. I would go down the road to a cafe for breakfast but other than that we thought it was a good choice for our holiday and would stay again.

Everything you need - 18th October, 2007
We stayed at An Huy for a few days although we were actually after Ha An - I think there may be a glitch in the Travelfish contact form. Nevertheless we were happy. Big, comfy rooms, bathrooms that were a relief after Hanoi, nice breakfast and friendly people. Free internet downstairs. Even provided umbrellas and slippers. For $35 what we got was a bargain. Oh and it's definitely worth popping to Brother's Cafe over the road for a cocktail - stunning.
