Description
This is a great little place tucked away at the end of 'budget alley' off Le Loi Street. It's not the cheapest of the lot, but the rooms offer a lot more for the money. The less-expensive rooms are fan only and a bit cramped, but that's partly because the beds are nice and big, and they still manage to squeeze in some good furnishings and TVs with satellite cable. The air-con doubles are much more spacious, and have great windows. The air-con triples are more spacious still and come with a living room suite and a big balcony with French doors overlooking the alley.

Total rooms: 12

This clean guesthouse offers affordable rooms. Convenient location for all Hue's attractions. Only negative is the quiet noisy Mens club nearby but this ends reasonably early most nights. Ask for an extra blanket on arrival if you think the weather is a little chilly.

5 cold but nice days! -

I stayed here when the weather was bloody cold, and the room was cold as well and a little humid, but they gave me 2 blankets and was ok.
Spotless clean, very cheap, breakfast is fine and the family running the place is fantatic. They do their best to help you with anything you need, but not forcing you in booking their tours or whatever.
Look for Truc, the girl at the reception, she speaks a good english, I had some nice conversations with her, and is incredibly nice and friendly. The location is nice, you're close to anything you need but is much more quiet than some other guesthouses where my friends where...
Highly reccomended.

One of the nicest places we stayed at in Vietnam and the best value for money! Really clean and airy rooms. Balcony room was fantastic (very big!). Family who run guesthouse are lovely and can't do enough to help you. They organised motorbike guides to take us to the hot springs one afternoon and sightseeing around Hue another day - this was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks travelling Vietnam! Great location too, walking distance to Citadel and plenty of restaurants.

Brilliant palce. Great value for money. Spotelssly clean and the dfamily who run it are so friendly and helpful but beware the construction going on right next door that starts at 7 am every morning-even on Sundays! If you can cope with that it's awesome!

Great service and value -

Thought this was a great guesthouse - deserves special mention during our trip -- the staff were extremely helpful, the rooms clean and spacious and the price was good.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in Vietnam - large rooms with balcony for $12 including a sofa, hot water and air-con, very clean, helpful staff. We took a motorbike tour with a guide out to the mausoleums - highly recommended.

Halo
10A/66 Le Loi St,Hue
The Halo is another great choice on Sidestreet 66 and even edges out its neighbour, the Cahn Tien, which is no slouch in the quality department. The upper floors have excellent rooms that sleep up to four people, with air-con, satellite cable TV, big tubs in the nice tile bathrooms, and pretty... more

Hoang Huong Guest House
46/2 Le Loi St, Hue
This friendly place is run by a mother and daughter (the hotel is named after Mom) who speak English well and do an exceptional job keeping the joint humming. Even though it's a budget guesthouse, they go all out to attend to the needs of those staying here, and they're incredibly scrupulous about... more

Mimosa Guest House
12/66 Le Loi St, Hue
This is the place to head if all you care about is saving money. The cheapest rooms are fan singles which guests jokingly refer to as 'prison cells.' Not the worst prison imaginable. Like a nice Swedish prison, or maybe a college dorm room. The doubles here have extra beds, making them triples, but... more

Bao Minh Hotel
8/66 Le Loi St, Hue
The rooms here are a bit cramped, in part because they all have tables and fridges packed into the room whether there's room for them or not. On the plus side, the decor is quite pleasant, the bathrooms have tubs, and all the rooms feature optional air-con at a very reasonable price. The more... more

Van Xuan
10 Pham Ngu Lao, Hue
We were greeted by a very unclean smell in the lobby of this place, and a spry old Vietnamese guy who didn't speak any English. We thought the rooms were not all that great -- a bit cramped, a bit shabby. Still, the place remains popular, perhaps because of the long exterior balconies, lined with... more

Phuoc An Hotel (DMZ Guest House)
60 Le Loi - 1A Pham Ngu Lao St, Hue
Despite the fact that the DMZ Cafe is sort of a hip place for backpackers to hangout, the associated hotel isn't such an appealing place to stay. We found the rooms clean but antiseptic, and the staff obnoxiously over-eager. Most of the rooms have decent baths with tubs, fridges, TV -- but no... more

Thanh Thuy's Guest House
6/66 Le Loi, Hue
This shining little diamond of a place offers, hands down, the best value for money for budget accommodation is Hue -- and probably in Vietnam. It has just four small rooms, but they're all beautiful and unbelievably cheap. The two street-facing rooms have excellent balconies, and are wonderfully... more
