Great value for money

This is a great little place tucked away at the end of 'budget alley' off Le Loi Street. It's not the cheapest of the lot, but the rooms offer a lot more for the money. The less-expensive rooms are fan only and a bit cramped, but that's partly because the beds are nice and big, and they still manage to squeeze in some good furnishings and TVs with satellite cable. The air-con doubles are much more spacious, and have great windows. The air-con triples are more spacious still and come with a living room suite and a big balcony with French doors overlooking the alley.

Great place & family. - 3rd January, 2010
Great little place. 12$ for a room. Friendly family. Standard viet breakfast. Good location, right near lots of good eateries (avoid Ushi, try Banana Mango instead). Rooms have no deco, no personality, but are very quiet if you are on the hotel next door's pool side. They have 3 motorbikes of their own for rent. bargain down price. IMO, you don't need a guide to visit the tombs, nor the citadel. Citadel isn't worth it, honestly, unless ruin left-overs are your thing. It's not the cheapest of the lot, but the rooms offer a lot more for the money. The less-expensive rooms are fan only and a bit cramped, but that's partly because the beds are nice and big, and they still manage to squeeze in some good furnishings and TVs with satellite cable. A great place to stay - 5th December, 2009
Stayed here for 2 nights and thought it was a great place to stay. Very clean, tidy and spacious. We were showed a very spacious room with double + single bed for USD$20/night, but asked for a cheaper one. We ended up in a decent sized double room for $15 (with TV, free WiFi and aircon - not that you need it at this time of year!). The nicely tiled bathroom is very clean. Highly recommended!

Brilliant Banana Pancakes! - 28th October, 2009
Very nice hotel with friendly staff and lovely big bright rooms. It rained heavily for most of the time we were there and we kept getting all of our clothes wet. One day we returned to our room to find our wet clothes missing, but that evening they were returned to us washed and dried, free of charge! And the banana pancakes for breakfast are brilliant!

Triple big room 20 usd, double 15. For this price this is one of the best hotels in Sout-East Asia. Very nice and helpful staff, clean, and the location is excellent.

Clean, neat and friendly staff - 28th December, 2008
Canh Tien Hotel is tucked down an alley. It might not be fantastic as it looks but surprisingly, I was touched by how helpful and friendly the staff there were. They spoke good English and a few of them spoke French too. The rooms were very tidy, neat and clean with cable tv. I do agree with the other reviewer on the noise by the opposite bar, but it was just a small hindrance to our stay. They also have a good computer there and I am also pleased that they took the effort to set the browser such that it will clear all data from our browsing to ensure our privacy. All in all, a highly recommended hotel in Hue.

One of the best placed we've stayed in Asia - 2nd December, 2008
We booked our 2-night stay in Hue staying at Canh Tien based on the Travelfish reviews, and yet again they were SPOT ON! For US$10/nt we got a great room with a big window, comfy bed and a TV plus a spotless bathroom. Location is great, people are as friendly and helpful as they come. Why stay anywhere else? this place should be 4x the price. It has everything you need.

Great location, value and very friendly, helpful staff - 1st November, 2008
The Travelfish review is spot on. Great value, nice quiet location and amazingly friendly helpful staff. Hard to imagine a better value in Hue. Doubles were large, clean with lots of hot water. Can't say enough good things about the staff/family who were extraordinarily helpful and friendly.

tucked away and close too! - 24th February, 2008
This clean guesthouse offers affordable rooms. Convenient location for all Hue's attractions. Only negative is the quiet noisy Mens club nearby but this ends reasonably early most nights. Ask for an extra blanket on arrival if you think the weather is a little chilly.

clean, cheap, great location - 21st February, 2008
One of the nicest places we stayed at in Vietnam and the best value for money! Really clean and airy rooms. Balcony room was fantastic (very big!). Family who run guesthouse are lovely and can't do enough to help you. They organised motorbike guides to take us to the hot springs one afternoon and sightseeing around Hue another day - this was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks travelling Vietnam! Great location too, walking distance to Citadel and plenty of restaurants.

Fantastic but beware noise - 14th January, 2008
Brilliant palce. Great value for money. Spotelssly clean and the dfamily who run it are so friendly and helpful but beware the construction going on right next door that starts at 7 am every morning-even on Sundays! If you can cope with that it's awesome!

xtremely clean, good price - 9th October, 2007
One of the best hotels we have stayed in Vietnam - large rooms with balcony for $12 including a sofa, hot water and air-con, very clean, helpful staff. We took a motorbike tour with a guide out to the mausoleums - highly recommended.
