If you're looking for mid-range comfort and amenities in what is otherwise the budget part of town, the Hoa Hong is a decent choice. They offer standard hotel-style rooms with air-con, fridge, satellite cable TV, and the like. We were particularly impressed with the spa tubs in the bathrooms with room for three people. Though, we're trying to think of that last time we took a bath with three people. Maybe we're missing out on something. The pricier rooms afford 'river views', but be forewarned -- this place is pretty far from the river.

It specialises in group tours, and on our visit the staff were handling the check-in of a group of sixty Australians like a well-oiled machine.
