Description
We've always thought the Dong Tam was a nice place to stay, though it has some stiff competition from the Thanh Thuy, Halo and Canh Tien nearby. It has a nice courtyard walkway leading off Sidestreet 66 and a vegetarian restaurant on site that serves a simple but decent menu and ice cold beer. The cheapest rooms have no windows, but all rooms have satellite cable TV and good bathrooms. The deluxe rooms have terraces that aren't quite as well done-up as those at the Halo, and not as many furnishings. Currently a good deal for the money, but changes are afoot -- they are putting in a pool, building more rooms, and raising the rates. Look for the switch-over sometime in February 2008, and expect the place to be a construction site until then.
