Unbelievable value
What we say: 
This shining little diamond of a place offers, hands down, the best value for money for budget accommodation is Hue -- and probably in Vietnam. It has just four small rooms, but they're all beautiful and unbelievably cheap. The two street-facing rooms have excellent balconies, and are wonderfully bright and airy, though they come without TVs or fridges -- a small price to pay for beauty. The interior rooms are windowless, but still quite good. Our only gripe is the so-so bathrooms, and that one of the rooms has a 'private bath' that's outside in the hallway. The staff here are pleasant but speak little English. We still think the helpful, laid-back, staff at the Hoang Huong are a great resource and make it a top pick, but if you manage to snag one of the four rooms at the Thanh Thuy, the Hoang Huong is just next door. Construction noise should be a problem here through February, 2008, but otherwise: recommended.

A little run down
I must warned you that this place is a bit old and run down and doesn't live up to its high recommendation despite its cheap rooms. I almost ended staying there but decided that I can get a lot better value with my money by staying at Phuong Huong which is just opposite from them. This place is more like a family house than a guesthouse. Good luck !!

Brilliant value and great food!
We stayed a night at Thanh Thuy's guest house and for $7 it was great value. We had a balcony room at the front and it was a great size, very clean with lovely balcony. We came to Hue specifically to visit the Vinh Moc tunnels and Thanh arranged for a car to take us there, with a stop off at an amazing beach on the way back (the Vinh Moc tunnels are well worth a visit if you missed the Cu Chi tunnels nr HCMC). The food was also delicious (v tasty bowl of pho and a great pancake for breakfast). Highly recommended!

Great
Great cheap and very clean guesthouse. The owners are very helpful and do everything to make your stay comfortable. Thanh took me for a tour today on his motorbike and it's great to see Vietnam like this. He will bring me with backback to Hoi An on Monday and see some sights on our way down. You feel safe and at home.

Great little guesthouse
A lovely little place in Hue particularly if you can get one of the rooms at the front with a balcony. The room was clean, the breakfast was yummy and the staff (notably the English-speaking gentleman) were helpful. If you find yourself in Hue, we recommend it!

Very nice, clean guesthouse and good excursions
Thang, his wife and his mother run a little six-room guesthouse in a tiny alley in Hue. (in July 2008, a double room with aircon was $6.) It's very clean and safe. They serve a very good breakfast for 20,000 dong. A lot of restaurants are nearby. Thang and his friend Hien know very good places (pagodas and tombs) in and around Hue. They take you on their mopeds for a few dollars for sightseeing. They can also bring you (with your backpacks) to Hoi An on their mopeds. Between Hue and Hoi An they show you a lot of nice things. If you call ahead they get you from the train station or the airport.

Great value
Stayed there April 2008. Had the second floor Balcony Room with two double beds, private bath and a/c. The people were very helpful. They can arrange transportation and tours if you like. The woman can cook! Ask if she will make you banh khoai for dinner. The son's English is very good. They have 6 rooms with bath and air. Three have balconies. The location is good. If they are full there are many others on the street. I flew into Hue and took the airport bus for 40,000 dong, about US$2.50, to Hotels Street. hen walked about 200 feet. Many good pubs in the area. I would stay there again.

Sympathique et familial
Accueil : 9/10 (chaleureux) Service : 9/10 (disponible) Qualite/Prix : 9/10 Conclusion : je le conseille vivement aux routards comme aux familles ! PS : la TV sattelite a ete ajoute dans toutes les chambres (par rapport au descriptif). J'ai pris quelques photos de cette tres bonne adresse : comment pourriez-vous en publier une sur leur page d'accueil ?
