Good for laptop wielders
If you are looking for a bit of luxury and incredibly good service at private dorm room prices, this is the place.
Located a short stroll from the tourist boat dock near Bap Da bridge, this recently refurbed five-storey (with elevator) hotel was easily the best place we stayed while in Hue. The beautiful marble-tiled rooms come with top-quality dark wood furniture and the kind of comfortable mattresses and soft furnishings you'd expect at a far swankier pad. Large bathrooms feature a high pressure, glass-walled monsoon shower – and they have baskets of sweet-smelling toiletries too. Amenities include a wide-screen TV with cable channels, a fully stocked (and cheap) minibar, complimentary fruit, water, tea and coffee and reliable WiFi – the larger deluxe rooms have a desktop computer. The staff speak good English and are eager to keep guests happy (we didn't eat the included breakfast and it was discounted from our final bill without mention) – nothing was too much trouble. They offer a loyalty card that provides a 10% discount on future stays for you or your friends. The cheaper standard rooms are in the centre of the hotel and while well lit, don't come with windows. This is quite normal in Vietnam, but if that bothers you pay the few dollars extra for an upgrade.
