We were happy to see on our most recent visit that Lucky Star is now shining a bit brighter. The whole place has been spruced up: the floors are done in attractive mosaics, there's backlighting behind the bed headboards, and the tastefully exposed brick walls give it sort of a New York feel. Rooms are now more fully equipped, with safes, for instance, and really big fridges, if you plan to hang around a while. The beds are done up well too, and look more comfortable than we remember, with thicker mattresses. The brand new Cozy Hotel nearby won us over a bit more, especially in terms of the quiet location — the street noise here can sometimes be a problem. But if you book in advance on line and get a good rate, this is a fine choice. Rooms include breakfast and internet. Non-smoking rooms are available.
