Walking in through the foyer, over the carp-filled pond and through the rattan-lined foyer, you'll feel more like you're entering an antique store than one of Hoan Kiem District's better mid-range guesthouses. With just 10 rooms, reservations are a good idea, as while this place isn't outstanding value, there really isn't anything else quite like it in the Historic Quarter. The very smart rooms are comfortable and slickly designed -- all with TVs, DVD players and in-room internet access. A pleasant lounge area with a patio is located on the second floor, with a DVD library you can choose titles from. Bathrooms are immaculate, some of which come with a small Jacuzzi, and the rooms on the higher floors have good views. An elevator has recently been installed. It's a good bit over-priced, but a fine choice if you can afford it. Recommended.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. Staff speakes well english. Our room was clean enough. But for this rate, this isn't the place to stay. We even met some cockroaghes in our bathroom.
The daytrips that they offer, aren't well-priced at all.

Excellent stay / Excellent city - 2nd November, 2006
We stayed here for 5 nights in total and had a great time. Had the VIP room (702 i think) for the first 3 nights then another (601 i think) for the last 2. 702 is at the back and quieter (until next door started to build another floor!!), 601 is at the front where you will be serenaded by the sounds of moto's ... or is that the other way around?!
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was nice and brought to the room free of charge.
Hotel is excellent - very friendly and helpful staff, great location for exploring the Old Quarter. Did the Tam Coc trip with them and was very happy with the organisation of it.
Amazing ... every minure of it.
