Description
Just a hop, skip and a jump from the southern end of Hoan Kiem Lake, The Zephyr delivers stylish rooms on seven floors (accessible by lift), some of which have quite special views over the city. Attracting a mix of business travellers and tourists, the Zephyr calls itself a boutique hotel, and we'd agree as this is about as boutiquey as Hanoi gets. Facilities are comprehensive (including in-room internet access), and while the rooms are tasteful and the beds comfortably firm, the carpets, especially those in the corridors, are tatty and well-worn and some of the the balconies are terribly narrow. We used to be fans of the view from their top floor bar, but they recently converted it into more rooms, so you'll have to pay for the best views. Front-desk staff are cheery and helpful. Be sure to check for an online rate.
