While mainly aimed at Asian tourists and travelling businessmen, the Hoa Hung is a friendly spot with rather kitsch but clean rooms and a popular cafe on the ground floor. While not worth putting at the top of your list, if you're looking for a comfortable hotel off the tourist trail, you could do a lot worse than here.

The worse hostel ever!
Do not reccomend this hostel to anybody! We checked in to Hoa Hung in the afternoon and everyhing seemed fine - ok rooms, friendly staff, low price. In the evening, when we wanted to go to sleep, we found a rat in our room! We immediately called the receptionist and asked for another room in lower flor, but he suddenly didn't know how to speak English. Because he did not wanted to give us another room, we wanted our passports to go to another hostel. He was so impolite and rude and demanded the money for a room we didn't even stay in! Horrible experience!! We actually had to pay 8$ for a room with a rat where we didn't even stay in! Really, much much better hostels in town for same price and much better value!
