What we say: 
The three storey Dong Khoi Hotel sits on the nothern bank of Ben Tre's luminescent green lake, and, for the money is just about the best deal in town. Rooms are very spacious with simple bedding, fridge, tv and air-con along with huge hot water bathrooms that even have tubs (though no plugs). There's also an elevator, but taking the stairs is far quicker. The day manager here speaks good English and is always keen to discuss the latest in football news, but nobody else seems to speak a word of English. The large restaurant on the ground floor does Vietnamese and basic western food and has an English menu -- but the food is just ok. All rates include breakfast.
