Huge rooms, not much else
As with the Huy Hoang next door, Hotel 31 (so-named due to its street address) is a popular stop with the Saigon tour-group mob scene, with its two-level restaurant filling up to bursting with tourists at lunch time.
Rooms are very basic with bed, wardrobe, and if you are in the front area, a couple of sitting chairs. These temporary crowds aside, this is a very good value hotel with the streetside rooms big enough to play volleyball in and reasonably clean (though they could learn to sweep under the bed once a decade). Streetside rooms also have a small veranda. With rooms this large, it is hardly worth going for air-con as the room never really cools down, but fan with the veranda doors open should be adequate. As with the Huy Hong, the staff here are quite jaded.
