To Chau
Basic but charming
What we say: 
Located at the corner where To Chau River meets Dong Ho, To Chau has a great waterfront location. But -- and if you've read other reviews of places in Ha Tien, you'll notice a trend -- they don't take advantage of their views at all. Most rooms have interior facing windows, others have windows facing onto the street. Only the top floor penthouse has views, and they at least are spectacular. Rooms are sunny and bright (even the ones without exterior windows, somehow), but they're pretty basic, with scuffed white walls, and minimal furnishings. Bathrooms are a little dingy, but they have hot showers at least. And while the place seems to have been built in the '70s, it still almost feels as though it has a little colonial charm, with its wide tiled staircase and high ceilings.
