Kim Hoa Resort
Unusual and generic

What we say:
Kim Hoa manages the strange feat of being both vaguely unusual, and yet totally generic. Maybe it was the silk bow-ties on the staff, or the fact that their brochure says they have an 'intelligent' swimming pool, but something about Kim Hoa was definitely off-putting. Accommodation was so generic as to be largely unforgettable. The rooms in the hotel building are bland, and the poolside bungalows feel damp, but the beachside rooms are moderately attractive -- though they're overpriced. The pool is fine, at least -- though we didn't see any signs of its intelligence.

Average hotel
We stayed at Kim Hoa the first night we were in Phu Quoc b/c we had another hotel reserved for the next few nights. Kim Hoa was great about the airport transfer. We had a private bungalow right on the beach. The location of our room was great. The room was ok. It was clean but very simple. The hotel was a little dingy and the beach was nice, but nicer at our next hotel. The restaurant didn't serve food in the middle of the afternoon which was annoying because we didn't want to leave the resort. Overall, it was fine, but other resorts are nicer.

Nice, Clean and Good price
We stayed at Kim Hoa for 8 nights. The first 3 night we stayed in a Bungalow by the beach. That was very romantic, but you can't escape having a lot of sand in the bedroom. The other nights we stayed in a standard room (which has exactly the same layout as a Bungalow, just that it's not by the beach..) this time, no sand and we could even connect to the internet from our room. I must agree with begrip (below) that wrote that the food was uninspired. But I would recommend the cuddle fish and shrimp soup for breakfast. The beach is nice and is kept clean. (But that's infront of all hotels on long beach) You also have the massage ladies walking on the beach of this hotel from about 9-17 every day.. (you can get a great 1h massage for about 60.000 VDG)

Blessed Kim Hoa
Arrived to Phu Quoc on a one way flight ticket, without any hotel reservation. In Saigon we had heard that many hotels were full at Phu Quoc. (This was in the beginning of January 2007) At the airport we got picked up by a salesman who drove us to the hotel. We got a surprise when we found out that they had plenty of rooms available. We chose an ordinary room, and stayed for two nights, then we went on to other parts of the Island. The Beach was ok, the restaurant and food was pretty uninspired. Since we having had a trouble finding a room this was a reasonable option!
