Sea Star has quite smart, very well-sized bungalows, mostly in a duplex style, all running through a small coconut grove down to a great stretch of Long Beach. With a view to enjoying the surroundings, the bungalows are fitted out with generously sized verandas and comfortable lazy chairs. This is a surprisingly quiet stretch of the beach.

A fantastic stay -

A fantastic six day stay. The staff were lovely, efficient and helpful. The Restaurant was great, lots of people coming from other resorts to eat there. Try the "quids in flour" and prawns in lemon grass and chilli, we still dream about those dishes. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, if there is one improvement they could make, that is to have some English speaking channels on the Cable TV, but then who needs TV anyway. We are are planning a return visit.

We spent four days at Sea Star and easily could have spent another month there. Very peaceful and quiet, beautiful beach, easy walk to the other hotels, really friendly staff. The perfect place to be lazy and relax - I'd be happy to go back.

Mai House
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
Set on a large block rambling its way down to the beach, Mai House boats some particularly pleasing bungalows that are spread across the resort's well manicured grounds. The bungalows here are a step above many of the options on Phu Quoc -- there's an attention to detail here that we found lacking... more

Tropicana
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
One of the longest-running resorts on Long Beach, the Tropicana has lush gardens sprawling across a large block of land down to the beach. There's a big terrace area with a refreshing pool and an attached restaurant with pool table. Bungalows are rather unusual -- fronted by a brick archway which,... more

Thousand Stars Resort
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
You really can't talk about Thousand Stars without mentioning the sculpture garden. A miniature world, including the Sydney Opera House, the Petronis towers, the lion of Singapore and a bay of flying swans all sits right beside the beachfront, fenced off with barb wire. Perhaps it's a hit with... more

Kim Hoa Resort
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
With a swimming pool and set on a great stretch of Long Beach, Kim Hoa has considerable potential but the rooms are pretty uninspired affairs, with the wooden bungalows right at the rear of the resort the pick of a pretty average bunch. The beachfront rooms are almost subteranean affairs as they're... more

Thien Hai Son
68 Tran Hung Dao St, Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
Lime green throughout, the Thien Hai Son has a bit of a motel feel to it, courtesy of the broad concrete pathways running throughout -- a few more gardens and a few less roads would have been a nice touch. There's a hotel-style building and bungalows to choose from, with the bungalows being by far... more

Duong Dong Hotel
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
Duong Dong's bungalows have threadbare furnishings and only the beachfront ones are particularly well positioned. There is though a good sized, well-placed restaurant. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms, but not all have tubs. The hotel style rooms are in a longhouse... more

Lien Hiep Thanh
Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island
Very friendly, Lien Hiep Thanh has bungalows staggered down a stepped terrace running down to the beach. The bungalows have the brick-archway look, which is oddly all the rage on Phu Quoc, and they were busy adding new bungalows whe we visited in August 2006. While the rooms are big and clean,... more
