Nha San Cottage
Exotic boutique hotel

What we say:
Though blessed with a decent beachfront, Nha San Cottage seems almost hidden from public view. It sits back behind its restaurant, beyond a sprawling lawn. It's worth seeking out though -- it offers some of the most intimate and unique accommodation on the island. Rooms are upstairs in a charming teak house. They're somewhat primitive -- this isn't the place to come for luxury comfort -- but they make up for it in exotic style. Hmong textiles hang behind the beds and the bathrooms are decorated in natural stonework. As a thoughtful environmental touch, water is heated with solar power. And if the relaxed setting and quiet rooms aren't enough, Thai massage is available downstairs. Nha San Cottage is the only boutique accommodation on Phu Quoc -- hopefully more places will follow its lead.

Mai Spa is leased and no more professional
Dear travelfish team, concerning Mai Spa Phu Quoc advert I must notice that most of the content of the adverts of this hotel on the web are no longer true ! I was there with my wife and my daughter last week and it wasn't what we saw in teh adverts. It's too expensive and neither a Spa in an international sense (they gave the titel themself)nor a Resort, just some wooden house. It's just a a rip-off ! 1) There no bungalows, just wooden houses, no Teak, in highland style, just rooms where you can here all neighbours noise and speaking, even snoring. 2) The owner Monsieur Jean-Claude is no longer staying there, he is working in Thailand and leased his small cottage to a Vietnamese woman, who is neither a doctor, nor a professional masseuse, nor did she study natural healing. Only Mr Jean Claude and his wife an orthopedist in Saigon have all the skills for natural healing. There are no TCM doctor (traditional chinese medicine) at Mai Spa but only some semiskilled girls without any degree and any references. It's big insolence and great swindle there. 3)They have no restaurant there only a kitchen where local semiskilled woman (the same who do the Thai Massage) are cooking distasteful and boring food like everywhere on Phu Quoc. They uses cheap ingredients and a lot monosodium glutamate. They cannot cook special vegetarian dishes ! 4) They don't like children ! The first place in Vietnam, where the boss didn't like children ! Childeren are not allowed to play in the garden, any noise is unwanted ! The boss is a woman ! We are very dissapointed to read all these interesting adverts on the web for a generally nice place, but in reality it's not true ! It could be quite nice, if they wouldn't overplay iun such a way and tell the truth. Please check this place !

great massages
We didn't actually stay here, but had a couple of massages by well trained Thai and Swedish practitioners. More pricey than the gals on the beach, but very good, and lovely surroundings. $15 an hour. We did view the rooms.. totally lovely Thai building; rich wood, gorgeous bathrooms.
