If the Phuong Dong is too down-market, the Van Thanh is a great step up in standards for just a little bit more money. Set across from the market, with some pretty handy views, the rooms are very clean and come with air-con, tv and hot water bathrooms, making this excellent value. Next door there is a decent restaurant with an English menu, making this an all-round good choice. Staff speak limited English.
