Description
We scoured Cua Lo Beach look for low-end deals, and we came up empty-handed. It doesn't seem you'll save a lot of money by shopping around in high season, since all the hotels offer rooms at prices fixed by the local cartel. The Anh Tuan is pretty much the first place along the beach as you head in from Cua Hoi to the south. It's more of a typical, Vietnamese style hotel than a resort. We had no complaints about the rooms, which are pretty much what you'd find at a good hotel elsewhere. We were amused, though, that you could basically have any room in the joint, no matter how large or how many people in your party, for the same low price. The prices skyrocket, of course, when the beach heats up.

This big, salmon-pink number caught our eye because of the good location, and the clean, spacious rooms with rubs and balconies -- though the views are mostly of the trees separating the main road from the beach. There's no pool, but perhaps that's why the doubles are a bit cheaper here than... more
