Phu Nguyen Hai
An easy choice

What we say:
This is an easy choice, if not the best value, if you want to stay right near the bus station. The trucks coursing up and down Highway 1 pass right by here with their horns blaring, and it takes a lot of guts and determination to cross the street, but with any luck you won't have to. We found the rooms clean, spacious and well-furnished with some tubs in the baths, hot water and air-con. If you're not too picky, a Deluxe here is a better value than a double at the Saigon Kim Lien down the road, but the standard accommodation is a bit overpriced relative to what you can get elsewhere in town. Eating options in this neighbourhood are pretty basic.

OK for one night
Picked this place because of it's convenience to the bus station. Very little English spoken at reception, first room shown was windowless and with the light off was as dark as the bottom of a coal mine. Stayed in room 302 with view over bus station through dirty double windows which cut down the noise a bit. Room felt a bit airless and ''clammy'' but slept OK despite occasional traffic noise. No WiFi in room. Limited TV channels on small out of focus TV. Shower was good. No restaurant. Paid 300,000 dong.
