What we say: 3 stars

This is the first place in a row of three guesthouses that are right up against the limestone cliff at the centre of town. The lobby is yet another group tour meal factory, and compared to it's neighbours, it falls down in two categories -- the grotty disgusting stairwell leading up to the rooms and the slightly daft staff. But the rooms themselves are fine, clean, and well-maintained. The beds feature frilly mossy-net canopies, and while none of the rooms have fridges, they do come with air-con and hot water bathrooms. All the rooms, whatever the price, can sleep four people. You can get a slightly better room elsewhere, but you wouldn't regret it if you wound up here.
