Description
This is the middle guesthouse in a row of three that are right up against the limestone cliff in the centre of town. Frilly mossy-net canopies bedeck the beds here, and which are done up in pink comforters. We leave it up to your judgement whether that's an attractive quality, but the offers here are quite clean and the interiors are quite well-maintained for the price. As elsewhere in town, the rooms don't have fridges but feature air-con and hot water bathrooms. The friendly staff doesn't speak much English, and there's a group feed restaurant in the lobby.

This place was closed on our visit because nearby construction cut off their water supply, but it should be reopened by spring of 2008. It's a unique place for Phong Nha -- a bit older, and all the rooms are arranged around a courtyard. The red doors and windows and yellow walls provide for an... more

Phong Nha Town
This is the first place in a row of three guesthouses that are right up against the limestone cliff at the centre of town. The lobby is yet another group tour meal factory, and compared to it's neighbours, it falls down in two categories -- the grotty disgusting stairwell leading up to the rooms... more

The only downside to this place is that its further than the others from the boat landing to go to the cave, but its still only a five-minute walk away. Otherwise, it gets high marks for it's attractive interiors and comfortable rooms -- good woodwork throughout, and quaint, Asian-style armoires... more

This is the last of three guest houses in attached buildings up against the limestone cliff at the centre of town. It's a family-run place where not much English is spoken, and they have a small number of rooms, but we found them quite charming. The triple room overlooking the street has bay... more

This is the most reasonable option that's close to the cave (if you rule out the Saigon-Phongnha for being overpriced). The rooms here are standard for those in town -- clean, well-maintained, with air-con, hot water baths, and no fridges. But they also offer some cheaper, fan only options and... more
