Description
This clean and pretty place has a second floor reception area (how chic) and is situated across the street from the curious 'Welcome to Thanh Hoa' boat in sitting in the dried up Ho Nha Tho. It's also quite near the town's picturesque Cathedral. The cable TVs get some good English language channels and while it's hard to gauge the staff, who seemed utterly flummoxed by the appearance of a foreigner at their doorstep, we'd still give it a 'recommend'.

Ample singage along Quang Trung makes this place easy to seek out, on a side street to the east. We found clean rooms with soft beds and fluffy bedding, well-furnished with armoires, vanities, green tile floors, and dark wood furniture (of the big and hard Vietnamese variety). There are nice tile... more
Dai Duong Guest House

If you get off the train and are looking for a cheap room to collapse into, there's a small collection of guest houses in the neighbourhood behind the Sao Mai Hotel. The location is hardly central, and pretty much any of them will do for the night. We singled out this place, down an alley, because... more
