Description
This is one of the few places right near the bus station that accepts foreigners. It's a good example of why local authorities probably want to steer visitors away from accommodation near the bus station. Although the court-yard setting was promising, on our visit, and the rooms on offer are as cheap as you'll get in Dien Bien Phu, we found the interiors, with their dim lighting and yellowing walls, downright depressing. Nothing a coat of paint and a bit of freshening up wouldn't fix, and we love a nice cheap room, but for our money, we spent a bit more and holed up elsewhere. Otherwise the rooms are adequately equipped with everything you'd expect for the price -- broadcast TV, some furnishings, decent beds, so-so shower-bathrooms. The staff seemed friendly enough.

This place is across from the bus station, closer to the Thanh Binh bridge leading to the market. The rooms we saw were light and airy, if a bit musty, but an improvement over the nearby Hai Yen on that score. They are a bit cramped but some come with a balcony and you won't pay more for it.... more
