Description
We thought this little places was simply precious. Located on an alley off the main street, across from the Tuan Giao Hotel, the HongKy has prominent signage in English and seems determined to capture the interest of every foreigner passing through town. It's a small, family run place in a pretty courtyard that features a cafe and restaurant, featuring western fare, mostly for guests, of which there could never be many, as they only have three rooms. The rooms are good and clean, with bright blue bathrooms, balconies, some good if typically heavy wooden furnishings, and the obligatory lacy, canopy-style mozzy nets on the beds. It'll seems a bit incongruous if you arrive caked in dust and mud after biking all day. The second floor features a balcony that they are fixing up as a place to hang out in the evenings. The family that runs it speaks very little English -- you should probably try to reserve a room by e-mail or phone if you get a chance, but you'll have to buttonhole a Vietnamese helper to do it for you.

Tuan Giao Hotel
Town Centre, Tuan Giao
This rather sterile, L-shaped place seems to be the top pick for most Vietnamese traveller's passing through, with roomy quarters, foam-mattress beds with frilly, canopy-style mozzy nets, broadcast TVs and some fairly nasty bathrooms. Good enough for the night, which is all you'll need, but we'd... more
