What we say: 
Hoang Lan also has a building on Cu Chinh Lan and we were tempted to ask about rooms when we were waved at by the super-smiley elderly couple sat in reception. They showed us the guesthouse around the corner, which has a more peaceful location and, despite the uninspiring and messy reception, the bedrooms were a reasonable option for the budget-conscious traveller. Clean — if you can ignore the occasional cobweb. Small and basic twin and double rooms are available at the same price, although whether you get a TV or not is luck of the draw.
