What we say: 2.5 stars

Located right on the main road, just past the village gate, with good views of the rice fields, guesthouse 2 is particularly notable for the abundance of greenery, caged birds and animal heads in the garden area. This lends it a somewhat tatty appearance but the communal rooms are fine. The bathrooms however, are some of the least appealing we saw and you probably can't anticipate the kind of friendly family atmosphere you might get at a less popular place off the main road, or in Pom Coong village. The garden also boosts the closest thing to a bar that you'll find in either village — Clare de Lune — which provides good views but pricey drinks. Evening meals are also expensive at 80,000.
